Here is the results of a fun project that a co-worker and I developed for the Ryerson University Library & Archives.  I’d seen a bunch of commercial barcode readers that could scan EAN codes and look up price information from Amazon, Chapters, Walmart and other vendors.  What I didn’t see was the ability to do this for Library Catalogues!  So I decided to get my hands dirty and make that functionality.

I will be open sourcing this application for other institutions to implement.  I just need some time to write a paper about it and clean the code.
